Meet Pipsqueak the Goat. My 2004 Ponitac GTO drift car.



Just a bit of history on Pipsqueak. After selling my last street bike I picked up a 2004 GTO project car that was mostly stock to romp the track a streets with summer 2013. I wanted to swap a LS into a 240sx, but while cruising craigslist I found this 2006 GTO for sale for cheaper than I could buy a LS engine swap and a 240sx chassis. Winning!

The project is definitely a work in progress. Bought it with a terrible misfire, drove it home and it felt super lethargic. Went to swap out the plugs and found out half of them were loose. Replaced plugs and wires and the power was much better up top, but the misfiring stuck around intermittently. Took it to get it tuned after replacing the Spintech exhaust in case the previous owner’s tune was bad. It turned out the tune was pretty iffy, but the problem was in the ignition. After the tune I replaced all 8 coils and the misfire was gone. Then it was time for power and suspension mods!

No need for a Kaaz. They're great, but $1300+ I'd rather put that into tires/other mods and use a welded.
I have some 3.90 gears I want to install with a spool. Simple and cheaper.

I guess if very little driving on the street, and budget is limited- I can see that. The Kaaz can be had for much less than 1300 though. The Q series is in that price range but not a must on a race car.. I've gone through several hundred of these diffs and have learned a thing or two. Who's doing your 3.90 and spool? If those 3.90 are motive gears, there are some issues with them that need attention or they can be a problem down the road.

Overall, the car turned out nice, reminds me of the small, local drift scene when Millen was still around.

Please post more media as you get the chance, I'd love to see more.

I set up the current diff in the car, stock out of an '05 with the welded carrier. It's life was shortened when the side adjuster started backing out.

I believe they are Motives, no care on if they whine or not as long as they work. They are installed in a car before mine. Not sure who I'm going to have install them and the spool. So hit and miss these days.

I used to have a whole website dedicated to the car, but I switched servers and most was lost. I have a whole playlist on my YouTube for it though.

I think about -3 degrees last time I had an alignment. Running 20mm spacers w/ARP studs and the Shane Whalley arms.

Pan baffle sounds interesting.

Our diffs aren't hit not miss, there just isn't anyone who really knows what to do with them. I've got a good bunch of these diffs in 800+hp cars without issue. You just need to do your homework.

Anything that keeps the oil where it needs to be is awesome. Accusump and baffle help with that a lot!

Diff is one of the least of my worries, I'll put a new one in there some day.

Wicked Holde..Pontiac I remember going for a ride in a new Monaro when they came out, was a wicked experience. Very beautiful shape. Lucky you can get away without a dry sump set up, unfortunately something I couldn't really get away with, on my track/sprint orientated build.
I know a guy who still has or was drifting one of these for years in NZ national drift comp, did pretty well.

If you ever want any holden goodies sourced, or need a local for whatever reason, feel free to drop a message. I currently sell Holden parts for VEs(G8s) with a good feel for that industry locally. Cheers

There were some drop knuckles I was looking at a few years ago before I found someone here in the states offering cut ones. I'll keep my eyes peeled, wish we had actual Holdens over here!

Sadly the GTO stays in the garage most of the time except for events. Not the easiest to drive on the street, but fun for that nice sunny day. No AC sucks in the summer in TX hah.

For the last few months I've been using my motorcycles as DDs, since my actual daily (2005 Toyota Matrix) needs a water pump, radiator, timing cover reseal...list goes on and on. But just put a cam in my Duke, so really I've been commuting on my Grom (125ccs).

I'd like to see a lot of guys out drive me. Many can, but there's a lot who can't. At least I'm not wagging my **** and *** posing with someone else's car like many attention ******. I actually get in there and build/drive it myself.
