No recalls but a few things that should get looked at. BCM wires rubbing through behind the glove box, front strut rub, front strut bushings and front radius rod bushings collapsing, and gas line rubbing through from the plastic fuel rail cover were the most common.

GM dealers know nothing about this car. Your best bet is to do some reading and find out how to check things yourself.

True but they have access to the technical manuals, etc. I'd rather have a GM dealer work on the car than just any old shop (if I didn't want to do the work myself).

Don't go there, go to a GTO friendly and savvy place, or have another more experienced GTO owner help you....

OR just take it to a dealer which was perhaps a Pontiac/Buick/GMC dealer, and is now just a Buick/GMC dealer. I'm sure the seasoned Tech's that dealt with the 04-06s will know a thing or two.

unless you know a good dealer or tech imo youre better off going to a GM EFI specialist that works on these cars regularly.

most dealers really dont know **** and would rather rape on brake jobs and oil changes.

There were a few cases of excessive oil consumption leading to ruined engines in early LS2s and some GTO, Corvette and SSR owners received a warning letter to be on the lookout for it.

Not a recall. More of a CYA approach.
