Default best intake for a 04 gto

Getting ideas for what intake is best for my 04 gto? I love the look of the Volant but dont see them as being offered for the ls1 cars. Theres aem and k&N both of which i have had on other cars in the past and have worked well. Any input?

Second question does anyone know about changing the rear gears on a gto? I havent really seen anyone posting gear changes and im wondering why. I am relatively new to gm/fbody cars so maybe there is a reason that im not aware of.

I would recommend going with an OTR style intake and getting a tune to take advantage of it. 3.91 gear swaps are popular. Lots of info on the gto forum

Thx I will look into the 3.91 swap. im prob just going to do long tubes and a intake and get the tune all at the same time so only pay once for tuning. Im sure they can adjust for the gear swap at the same time too if i go that route.

Another vote for an OTR style intake like the svede. The reason for the lack of gear swaps was the price to buy a set of gears and have them shipped from Australia. Now that there are US made gears it is a more cost effective mod.

Did some research on the svede. Seems like a really good intake, nothing but rave reviews performance wise. Little pricey but def seems to be worth it.

I have been searching around for gears and i found some from precision performance for $599 i think it was. Pretty crazy i am going to do some more research and see if i can find any better deals than that

Sweet. I saw some older posts where svede was fabricating his own intakes himself but now i see it looks like svede intakes are available at west coast performance so i will order one through them. Looks like a really nice intake for sure and nothing but rave reviews. Appreciate the input
