Default svede intake or?????

Really want a svede intake i have heard nothing but great things about it. It is a little pricey(Which i dont even have a problem with as much as availability issues) Seems like it takes a act of god to actually get your svede intake. I have a ls1 gto so cant go vararam. Are there any other decent intakes out there to go with or do you just hold on indefinitely for the svede? Seems like all i hear about is the svede!!!

The Svede is really good. I tried about 3 air intakes before buying the Svede and they were all the same performance-wise.
My personal advice would be to wait for a Svede if you can, its worth it. Also, keep an eye in the FS section of forums as the pop up for sale here and there.
Heat soak is a frustrating issue on GTOs and this intake fixes it once and for all.
Hope this helps.

The SNL or New Era with a good heatshield that seals to the hood tight is your next best bet. Coupled with a 100mm MAF and putting the IAT in the filter and modding the IAT you will be very close to the svede. The SNL kit is 400 and cones with a MAF, you just need to supply a heat shield and mod the IAT sensor

I'm leaning towards the SNL 4" because I wouldn't have to wait and it comes with the maf!

Svede or Vararam IMO, both take cool air in from the front of the car. The Svede just looks better and is a nicer piece, but the Vararam works great too, it's just not as nice to look at when you open the hood.

Ahh hell, I read you post when you first wrote it, and remember the no Vararam 04 deal. I just saw it again, and posted before I red the whole thing lol. In that case, I would def go Svede. These OTRCAI's are the best IMO, no bends, and cool air rushing in the front of the car, right to the filter.

You can run a vararam on an 04 quite easily, Ive seen it done several times with the newer hood. If you can find one for really cheap it would be worth it, no way id do it to a new one ober a svede

The hood isn't the issue with a VR. The problem is the TB is an inch further forward on a LS1. The VR puts the MAF directly into the filter as there is little room even with a LS2. When you have to gain that inch you can do it with cutting but you make it jammed together even more. You'll find threads of people with cams having tuning issues from that design.

I have read that b4 on another forum too i think. Im just going ot go with your intake from west coast. Seems to be the best all around and i would rather not have to cut or modify anything if not needed. I have switched to a 05/06 hood on my 04. Just liked the look better
