Default p0300 after racing a shelby

this afternoon a new shelby pulled up next to me and wanted to race so we did well he was staying right there i must have gotten nervous because when i went for 5th i hit reverse the car just died. I slowed down started the car, but i noticed a slight shake, i was only 5miles from home so i kept going got home the check engine light was on.
i have a scan gauge and it said p0300? and i can smell fuel when i rev it up, i reset the pcm like i read on a few fourms and did nothing, checked plugs they seem good. I have new set of msd wires on the car 2 months old i am stumped any help?

121,000 and it hit the rev limiter once. I cleared the code now the light flashes at a idle and as soon as I rev it up it goes away u can feel a misfire but motor makes no bad noise and oil looks good . I'm hoping the internals are all still good should find out tomarow taking it to gm

MSD coils? I have heard they aren't very reliable.

Bent pushrods, maybe a failed lifter?

When my lifter failed it felt like a misfire. Was hoping a plug wire just popped off....not the case.

I'm amazed you got it it Reverse. Guess you dont have your reverse lockout switch hooked up? Or is that another 04 downfall?
