Default Gauge Cluster Issue?

I bought an 04 GTO 6 speed about a month and a half ago. I've never had any problems with the gauge cluster until tonight when I went out and started it because I did some work on it. It's about 12 degrees out right now. As soon as it got through the system check on the middle screen, it said engine temperature high and the gauge went up to about 3/4 up the gauge, then immediately fell back down to cold and I haven't seen it do that again since. I've started it twice more with no issue. What could have caused it?

Mine messes up in the cold, I live in Indiana. My gauges only do this type of stuff in the cold, I think when it sits for a few days in cold or something, maybe even over night it does something with the car. My speed, rpm and all that go up to 200 when I am in park. Not for sure what the cause, but I have problems in the cold weather as well.

Gotchya. It had been sitting since Friday, and it's been a very cold weekend. (In the teens.) I'll keep an eye on it, but I didn't worry about it since it went right away.

It's a known glitch on the 04's. mine has done it 3 times in the 4 years I've owned it
