I have the MGW-P short shifter with the factory **** and I absolutely love it. I would go that route, but thats my .02. I have heard a lot of B&M's breaking and ppl just not happy with em. The GMM Ripshift is popular and pricey, so is the JHP Billet shifter. Haven't heard anything bad about the MGW-P. Haven't heard much about the hurst.

I have a LSS. Only shifter I have used other than OEM. I like it. Easy install. No need to drop the transmission as with alternatives. It is only a shifter arm replacement and no more. Throws are shorter which is what I was looking for.

I've had my LSS for about two months and have no complaints. Best thing about the Lou is that it eliminates the spongy feel of the factory arm. The throws are noticeably shorter as well as the overall length of the shifter itself. http://www.highperformancepontiac.co...o/viewall.html

I just installed a LSS this week; pretty easy and straightforward install. It definitely improves the firmness (less sloppy) of shifting. And the angle is much more driver-oriented making for a better shift. As HSG said above, this is a very good bang for the buck.

I've only ever experienced the stock shifter, but it greatly improved with the modest improvement of an LSS. The feel is much more controlled and the shorter throw is a blessing. The tilt toward the driver is a bonus. If you can't afford a quality aftermarket shifter, the LSS is a great cost effective alternative in the mean time.
