Fast 92 gains over stock/ported ls2 intake

Fast 92 gains over stock/ported ls2 intake
Might be picking up a Fast 92 for a decent price and was wondering if it was worth it or should I just get the ls2 ported. Car will be just bolt ons for a while until I install a cam. Thanks

"Worth it" is relative. Porting the stock manifold is free if you do it yourself. I read an article on a Corvette forum comparing a ported LS2 intake to a ported FAST 92 and the FAST gained about 17hp if I recall correctly.
Once you do the cam, the FAST will provide more than even a ported LS2 intake could hope to.

Keep in mind that a stock FAST 92 and a properly ported LS2 intake aren't that far apart, maybe about 5hp. The FAST moves away when it is properly ported. A 102 could be a bit too much intake for a stock cam and stock cubes engine but with a cam you can more completely take advantage of what either FAST has to offer.

While they may make a little more or the same peak power as a ported LS2 intake, the FAST 102 has a completely different runner design. It makes way more under the curve and completely changed the way my car felt.
Also, gains of 21rwhp have been seen with a FAST 102 over an unported LS2 intake on a 6.0L with 799 heads and smaller than stock cam and OEM manifolds. So with the stock LS2 cam you might expect even more.
I don't think it 'flows too much', it outperforms a ported LS2 in every way and it leaves you room to grow. It's not like it makes power up top at the expense of power down low, it makes more power everywhere than any other intake. There is no downside to a FAST over an LS2.
At $830 for a 21rwhp gain and it installs in an hour or less compared to $1100 and 25rwhp for a set of Kooks that are a pita to install, I don't see why people consider it too expensive.

A ported 92 is worth the money if you are going with a cam down the road. Even without a cam a 92 will produce more peak HP than a ported LS2 intake and, better yet, produce more power under the curve as rpms increase. No brainer if you ask me.

Of course, I had it ported at the same time too. May as well have since it only cost about 270$ to install and have the TB ported. Btw, you want the 102 since it can use factory LS2 fuel rails and is a better design.
To compare, I paid 325$ at the same shop to have headers installed and then paid another 165$ parts + 350$ install for new motor mounts to fix the header rub on my 1400$ headers...
Yeah, the FAST was good bang for buck.
