check alternator Will this warning come on Everytime there is a problem or if an alternator is bad? Just trying to pin point the issue with my car. Tried jumping it, dash and interior lights work as well as the radio. But, as soon as you turn the ignition everything dies. I took the battery out and hooked it to my charger, but the charger was reading the battery at 12.7 volts.
I've also replaced the starter earlier this year. The car has sat for quite some time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried searching, it's just the answers seem pretty vague and generic.

Oh, btw it is an 04. I know the check alt light works because earlier this year I tore my powersteering pump pulley from the pump and it came on.
