Default Hello everyone, new to the forum

Hi there peeps. Im new on the forum. Last fall I purchased a 2004 GTO with a manual trans. I only got to drive it for a few weeks before i parked it, but its an amazing car to drive. Previous vehicles i have owned worth mentioning, 2014 V6 Mustang, 2010 Forte Koup, 2007 Focus ST, 1995 Talon TSI, 1996 Talon TSI, 1992 Eclipse GST, just to name a few. As you can see it took me a few years to finally get some V8 fun, but now that i have it i could never go back to a four cylinder car. My winter beater is a 2001 Outback.
The GTO needed new tails, grille and emblem, headlights and fogs, if i cant get the cloudy ness out. The car likes to pop out of 2nd and reverse is struggle without going into fourth first, Im getting the hang of it but i plan on having the tranmission rebuilt next summer. I knew what the car needed prior to purchase, but loved it so much i feel its worth the investment for such a fun ride.

You could wet-sand and buff them to clear them up quite a bit. Post some pictures up!

My neighbor said to try mayonaise. i was like wth, what am i out. I did and was impressed at how much of the cloudyness it took out. i still need to replace the headlights and fogs, one of the tabs on the pass headlight is broken, and the drivers side foglight is dirty on the inside of the lens, might i add if anyone tries this, it has to be MAYO, not salad dressing

Last edited by bloodygoat; 04-25-2014 at 01:58 AM. Reason: adding mayo

the transmission issue could be a few things. a worn pilot bearing will make it hard to shift into gear, but i've had and driven several GMs with M5 and M6s, and they all like to be put into another gear before reverse. the expensive answer is that it could also be worn syncros.
