If you take out all the interior accessories; is the interior body panel painted?

I'm trying to figure out if the interior of my 05 GTO was repainted. I took out the door trims and the rear seats and I noticed that the metal panel is painted the same color as the car...red. The paint isn't uniformly done as it fades in some places almost as if it is an overspray but surely not. This is except for the doors which, judging by the overspray onto plastic connectors, rivets and bolts, was clearly repainted.

So now I'm wondering, stock, is the GTO's interior panel painted or not?

Yes. There interior panels will be gray but if the cars exterior is red, there will be red overspray on interior panels, as you described.
I have not seen overspray on connectors though.

Really? Lemme see if I got this right. If the car is red then the interior will be painted but if the car is any other color then it will not be painted, hence gray??

No.....all interior panels are painted gray first. When the exterior of each
vehicle is painted, overspray will get on the gray inner panels.
Therefore all inner panels will be gray with overspray of the color of the
exterior.
