Default Road racing - oil starvation

Is oil starvation common when road racing with the front sump GTO oilpan?

Yup... Add an extra quart of oil. Add oil until it's at the highest level mark on the dip-stick, then add 1 quart extra. I'd also add a thermostatically controlled oil cooler.

Jontall nailed it! I don't remember the exact wording but the owners manual even states to add 1 additional quart if you plan on driving it hard.

There is a racing oil pan baffle that you can get, but it is $200 and obviously requires the pan to be removed to install it.

The oil pan baffle your referring to is made by Improved Racing. We have used them in several GTOs throughout the years and they work really well. Its a good investment for any GTO in my opinion.
