Car alarm just went off, won't lock
The car alarm just went off, so I looked outside and hit Unlock. The alarm stopped. However, it wouldn't Lock, so I went downstairs. The car is responding to Unlock but not Lock - I can hear the locks moving with Unlock. I cannot manually lock the doors either. I noticed that interior light was on, so I had to move the switch to Off. What in the hell is going on?

I replaced the battery a few weeks ago.
I turned the car on this morning, but there was no message. Also, the damn E-brake light and warning wouldn't turn off. I made sure that it was engaging/disengaging. After I parked the car at work and got out, it still wouldn't lock.

I had a similar occurance with my previous GTO. Turned out to be, get this.....The ignition key cylinder. It stopped popping out that 1/8" when the key was removed. This made the car think that the key was still in the lock. You cannot lock the car with the key still in the ignition.
The key lock is a big issue in these cars, and must be replaced with the new part #, before getting the driver stuck in the middle of nowhere on a Saturday evening.
My present GTO has the original ignition key lock assembly, so who am I to tell others what to do?
