ECM bad

ECM bad
I have a 2005 GTO that has a bad ECM. It is one of the problem cars that must have the ECM and PIM changed out together in order for it to work. I am having a problem finding these pieces from the same car. Would it be possible to have the ECM repaired and installed in the same car? Does anyone know of a source for these parts if this is not possible?

Maybe this will explain it better. https://ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagn...p-warning.html

ECM bad
I have not tried customer service yet, but things don't look good. It has a previous salvage title (repaired) from a long time ago, and it is a 10 year old car. I can call, but I can hear the laughter starting now.

No-one is laughing... Your going to need the powertrain interface module GM part # 92189621 $110.98 (it's under the dash above the fuse box. Than the engine control module GM part # 12596679 $232.01. Both of these parts are available from GM parts direct.com. Now you will need to have them linked with a Tech 2 or Snap-on Modis. You will also need the BCM security code. If you don't have it, send a PM to this guy and he will send you the tool to read it (he might have additional information too): http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthr...&highlight=bcm
There are people parting-out GTO here: http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=19
See if they have the PCM, BCM, ECM, and key fobs as a set from one car and they will all match; it should work without linking. You'll get no-where on this forum-- join ls1gto.com forums.
