Default 3.91 gears...

Does anyone know of a good site where I can get some 3.91's? Kinda confusing... searching for them I see them priced at anywhere from 100-150 all the way up to around 600. Doesn't make much sense. Also what brand would you suggest going with? Thanks in advance.

You aren't going to find any new that fits our rear end for $100. They are all around $450-600. gForce Engineering is a good place to start.

Do not buy Motive gears from Gforce because they will make noise. Andy (A_Vas) has OE Australian gears in stock (3.91 and 3.73). Post #13 and #17 here: http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=686545
Send him a PM there or call Complete Street Performance; they are a sponsor on ls1gto.com.

Good point although the setup is probably the most important thing. You can also get gears from Difftechnics in Australia.

I have oem gears, and the correct bearings and seals. I build these diffs on a regular basis. Pm me if I can help.

Afaik, the vendors mentioned above don't use all the same parts that I do.

The Motive gears are fairly quiet if set up correctly, there are other install issues with them.

I do. I also rebuild/mod trutrac and oem lsd units. I've got 3 wavetrac builds this week alone, but they are sealed at the factory and there has been no need to touch them so far.

PM me a price on a rebuild with a Wavetrac and the turn-around time. Do I need to buy the Wavetrac from DSS? Do I need to supply a core? I have new gears sitting here.

Same here. I wouldn't mind having 3.91's or even some 3.73's but the cost and after some things I read I decided to just stay stock.

For the gain 3.46 to 3.73 is 5% tq increase or 10% for 3.91 IIRC

Nothing. I ran across that site a while back but never used them. I always wondered if they were legit so this seemed like a good time to ask.

I have Dana 3.91 and 3.73 on the shelf, FYI
they aren't cheap, but they aren't noisy either
