Default Alarm

Last night around 8 my car alarm starting going off. I have had nothing done to the car except for having the banshee hood put on my car. Does anyone know what could cause the alarm to randomly go off?

Sad that most visits to this wonderful website are few and far between.

In case you have not already solved this mystery, be aware that there is a pin switch near the hood lock, and it was placed there for the alarm. Your new hood probably does not sit on it properly.

Thank you both for responding. It did have something to do with the hood not reaching the pin switch, so my car thought the hood was open. I hope I got that right... I know a great place I can take it to here in town and he will look at it without charging me. He simply took a plug, but it in that top hole on the hood so it could reach the switch and haven't had an issue since. Hope I said that right... because I was still a little confused. I am real good with certain aspects of working on cars and diagnosing what's wrong, and other things I am a complete idiot. So once again, thank you both for the response.

The DIC will display what triggered alarm; it will say hood, or door, or trunk so read what it says before trying to reset it. When the door actuators start going bad, they also set the alarm off for no reason; don't ask how I know.
