Not sure why you have such a hard time believing that number. A tune, even handheld (and you can improve those quite a bit) and headers wakes up an LS1/4L60E combination quite a bit especially removing the torque management build into those cars. With 100 shot on top this car can easily be making 440+rwhp and a lot more torque.
I have no doubt that an auto car (which is hella easy to launch) and mid 400s at the wheels both hp and torque cannot run an 11 second quarter mile. In fact it would be pretty sad if that kinda power and you were still in the 12s. Most cammed GTOs making that kinda power are 11 second cars. Hell, bolt-on GTOs have been in the high 11/low 12s.

Redtan is correct and the comment's about a the added torque of nitrous is no joke! My guess is 140 ft/lbs on a 100 shot.
Automatic GTO's with mods are typically a couple tenths faster than the manual cars especially with a stall from a dig.

torque management is the devil for a performance car, pulls timing before shift points. saw a video of a guy tuning a stock LS2 TBSS. On the shift from 1-2 it pulled 30 degrees of timing on a stock tune. Editing that out along with firming up the shift points makes a big difference on a auto.

I recall there was a LS1GTO automatic transmission owner who went low 12s with very simple modifications. Converter(yank 3500), exhaust and the ability to hook made him launch incredibly well. Trap speed was low but the he made up for it in the 0-60'. Other items as well, weight reduction. One of those low dose sneaky pete 75 shot NOS IIRC.
HTRDLNCN was his call sign on LS1GTO. Smart fellow with a smart combo.
My error, It was stock exhaust manifolds.
here it is #24: http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthr...436&highlight=

12.9@103 1.7 60ft with convertor and tires 78deg 70% hum
12.0@113 1.6 60 ft with a 75 shot
except for nitrous run all were at Moroso in the florida swamp,
known for bieng a slow track..
less than 2000 in mods and is .01 away from running 11s in a lowly 04 A4..
yup horrible plarform"
I ran at Moroso then and it was indeed a very poorly prepped track. Plus humidity.

This is a friend's GTO from a few years back.
His mods:
LT's, SLP LM1 catback, 3600 Stall, Supechips 2724 Tune, intake, 3.91's, Nitto 555R
12.32@110.02
Add a small shot and you have a mid 11 second car.

Sounds like the guy is hustling the locals. You wouldn't believe how much people want to believe newer GTO's are slow. I've told people that my car makes 340rwhp and runs high 13's. Technically, it does make 340, at like 4600rpm, and it does run high 13's, standing on the brakes. Back in the early 90's, I used to hustle people with an awd Eagle Talon, a 91 CRX hf and a 89 turbo Caravan(still have the CRX and Caravan). Before that I ran a 79 notchback Mustang with a built 317 that had a 2 barrel carb, 2 stages, C4 with a 4400 stall and a 26xxlb race weight. It had no guages that weren't factory, dummy radio, gutted dash, fuel cell in the trunk, etc... used to pull in to the races with a 2400rpm pill in the 2 step, popping and jerking around then pop the hood and act like I was trying to figure out what was wrong. The vultures would circle almost immediately. About the 3rd time out, the jig was up and nobody fell for the act anymore. The next year I showed up with a friends Talon that ran 11's on retreads, they figured that one out quick. Then with a gutted CRX with a SOHC and a hidden nitrous kit. Then with a 300+whp 89 Caravan that I yanked out of a junkyard for $250. It got to the point where the only people who would race for money were the big boys who were running single digits. Now, if I show up in anything, everyone assumes it's fast.
