Default Battery? Alternator? Starter?

So earlier this week I go to start my car and it fires up then turns off right away. I turn the key again and it starts no problem and stays on. I go to start the car a couple days later and when I turn the key I get nothing. The dash was working but it just didn't start. After turning the key a couple times it fires up and stays on. Anyone have this type of experience before??? I'm new to GTO's so I don't know much about these cars. Going to start by cleaning and tightening up the battery terminals...

I had virtually the same problem last year. It turned out to be the starter.

I would definitely make sure your battery is fully charges and check the cables to make sure they're not loose or corroded prior to buying any parts..

Checked the cables and they were not loose or corroded. Thanks for the reply my dad was thinking it was the starter when I first told him. I dropped the car off with my mechanic see what he thinks.
