Default Got wheels, final tire decisions

Hey all,

Since the car is inside during the winter, I'm getting parts together for my build. I currently have the stock 18' 235/40 combo all the way around but have a set of VMR V710 wheels in 18X8.5 ET45 and 18X9.5 ET 45 in the boxes still. I'm looking at Toyo Proxes R888R tires since she never sees rain, and is a mix of a heavy AutoX and strip car, with occasional street driving to and from the track. Most people agree on the idea that GTO's can't fit much bigger than a 245 in the front or a 275 in the rear. My car currently sits on Koni yellows all around, and Lovells 330mm front and 350mm rear with poly subframe bushings, and will soon have BMR drag bags installed. What are the realistic chances I'd be able to fit a 255 in the front and a 285 in the rear? I'm not opposed to raising the rear a little bit with a poly spring pad.

You can fit 285's under a Monaro/GTO, but not with 9.5" ET45 wheels.

Our Monaro has 275/30/19 on 9.5" x 19" ET43 with the guards heavily rolled.
A HSV GTO I work on has 275/35/19 on 9.5" x 19" ET56 with the inner guards 'massaged'.
There is 13mm (1/2") difference in how these wheels mount, therefore I assume that you can just get a 10" wheel under the back and at least a 285tyre.

So it looks like I'm limited to a 275 with these particular wheels?
