Default Looking to get a GTO...what to look for...

Hey everyone. I am looking to get a GTO! I have a 1994z28 and I want to sell that and use that money on a down payment on a GTO. Is there anything to look for in these cars? Anything I should know? Also, right now there are only 4 in the area and they want 26,000 for them...anyone know of any deals that will be coming up? Thanks

Make sure the mileage is REAL low on the car. There might be some 04's out there with maybe 50-100 miles on them and I'm sure they weren't tested conservatively! $26K is not a bad price considering you getting $7K off! I'm sure if you can talk them down a little more if you show up with a deposit.

Also the later built cars seems to be of better quality. I have owned this car since Oct and bought it with 6 miles. My car was built in May and the thing is awesome!

Hmmm unfortunately there are only 4 GTO's for sale right now. There is a yellow one with 13,000 miles on it and the dealer wants 28,000...but there is a red one with 1300 miles on it for 26,000. Makes no sense to me.

Those prices are nuts. I paid $23k for mine new back in November. Go to GMBuypower.com and see what's out there for '04's that you like and contact the dealers and see what there best deal is. If not I would wait until the fall and get a '05(I'm sure there will be a decent rebate by then).

Default here is what i looked for

I decided to just look out of state, a plane ticket now a days is really cheap. So i found one in Virgina 7k miles on the od, it was black/black m6 got it for 22,700, plane ticket was 84, and drove it back to florida. Just find one with low miles and what tranny you are looking for, there are plenty out there just be patient. And good luck with your purchase.

I have a QS on Red 04. It has 4000 miles on the clock and is fully zainoed and immaculate.

I have installed an LG G5X3, Z06 Heads and CC 921 Springs. Lifetime 28/18 Window tint is also included. It put down 368.9 RWHP and 341 TQ. It is fully tuned with HP Tuners and has excellent manners!

I would sell it for $26.5 including the mods.

I would also be interested in buying your 94. What did you have in mind?

Eric

I leased mine in December, could have bought it for $21,800 or so....brand new leftover 04, Black automatic....

I wouldn't consider getting a 28,000 mile car for $28,000...that is insane...they couldn't give these ******* things away a few months ago...

Wow, those prices are high....hopefully that's a sign of what market value of these will be in a few years. It'd be nice if they hold value.

I have the same car as the first one you linked to....i paid less than that brand new.

Unforunately I am looking to spend no more than 25,000. I think some of those cars I listed should be going for 20ish. I wanna get test drive one today.

With the prices GM was giving these things away for a month ago those used cars should be $20,xxx. However, ther aren't. I would try to talk deal on a new one....dealers need to get rid of leftover '04's.

Yes GM was giving FANTASTIC incentives on the new left over GTO's, but it doesn't decrease the value of the car. And for a while (and possible still can) buy a brand new once for less cash out of pocket for a used one . . .

Just because I paid $22,800 for my brand new GTO, that is NOT what it sold for . . . GM rebates, Incentive and Credit Card Dollars don't reduce the resale value. Check out Kelly Blue Book . . . .

The same thing happened to me when I was shopping for my Diesel Silverado . . Used cars actually cost more cash than a Brand new one taking all incentive into count.

Just FYI . . .

The Build Date is important and you might wait to check out the production #'s to see if color is important. LS1GTO might be a better forum to get information from. http://www.ls1gto.com Check it out.
