Default 2004 gto buyback from GM anti-lock brakes

I bought a 2004 gto automatic in dec 2004. Car was great for 2000 miles then the ABS started vibrating on take off. You could here it a little bit. Then the brake lines started vibrating from the front to the back. The dealership claimed there was no problem. Finally i brought it to another dealership and they said that it was loud. They tried bending the break lines
it helped a little bit but the fix was not up to GM specs. Notice watch your brakes in the 04's the 05's have a different abs control. I didnt feel that the repair was correct so i seeked legal advise. Buyback this week maybe an 05 soon.

Thanks for the info.... our '04 A4 car is starting to **** me off... everytime I drive it's like there is a different tranny in it. It never shifts the same and almost always SUCKS! We've had it to the dealer once, probably gonna go back a few more times. What can I do? I'm almost to the point I'd just let to trade for an '05.

The shift pattern in the GTO is COMPLETELY different from the F-car platform. They're much more aggressive on the "adaptive" algorithm. I turned off torque management for the 1-2 shift entirely, so for me its even more obvious. If I drive it really nice, low throttle angles, etc. it shifts nice and smooth. If I beat on it a little bit, it'll start breaking the tires loose on part throttle shifts

If you get EFILive or HPTuners, you can program it however you like.

does it vibrate when at a stop in gear?
I got a wierd but very LOUD vibration that I can feel in the seats big time. It only happens when I got the windows up and A/C on, seems to come from the back but it sounds loud enough to sound like crappy bass in an old buick rattling the trunk lid...but it goes away if i put in neutral, only does it when I'm at stop in gear.

Mine used to. Bump the idle speed up 50 RPM and its gone.

There is, but the right way to do it is via computer tuning. If you jack the screw, the PCM will still attempt to control the idle speed to its programmed setting.

Otherwise I'm sure we can find a shop that can help you out. There's quite a few in Texas that can tune your computer for you.

Yea its weird like when the car was stock it would kinda shake until it warmed up...
I think it was the HYD mounts that GM is using in the GTO...

Its an electronically controlled tranny. The tranny will adapt to how you drive the car or say "learn" according to your driving styles. you beat it, its gonna shift hard and fast. you feather its its gonna shift slow and easy.

It adapts VERY quickly too. One WOT run, and I'm breaking the tires into 2nd gear at part throttle on the next standing start.

Of course, I did turn off torque management too, which helps a bit

Yep, mine does this BIG time. I bumped up the idle speed 100 rpm (50 rpm didn't do it on mine; it went into a weird pulsing vibration) with a Predator hand-held. But, damn it, it shouldn't do it AT ALL! I know they don't all do it; I had the dealer service guy pull another 04 A4 around and compared; he admitted the marked difference in idle quality. I have taken it in 3 times now; they say they can't fix it (or don't want to try hard enough) so I filed on BBB for buy back/exchange. I even tried swapping out another factory exhaust (take off from a local GTO owner) and made no difference, so I guess it's not in the exhaust system. Really pisses me off, cause other than this problem I really love the car!

Mine was from the brakes. When you start the car the brakes do a self test and when I rolled ten feet a grinding noise occurs and the break lines vibrated from the front to the back. Wasnt a idle problem.
