Default Mods?

My dad is now retired and is looking for something fun to drive. He has an older muscle car, but wants something that is a little newer, that he can drive everyday. I told him to look at the gto's, and he liked them. He was asking what could he do bolt on wise, adding solid power. I told him lt's, intake, short throw, maybe some wheels and tires. Since I have a WS6 and don't know much about the gto, what is a good site that sells parts? ANd what mods are guys going with and getting good bang for the buck?

You may already be aware of this, but check out www.ls1gto.com / www.ls2gto.com. Pretty good sites for numerous opinions on numerous mods, all GTO specific. I really only go to ls1gto since I have an '04, but even that site has plenty of ls2 information. Your dad will LOVE the car, very well put together and a blast to drive!

The mod bug is easy to catch. He'll be happy with a CAI, headers, and a tune...all can be done without spending crazy money.

Can't really add much beyond what is stated above, except that the GTO IMO is a GREAT choice for a DD that has some musclecar "feel". Basic and proven mods are LT's, CAI, ported intake (LS2 anyway), exhaust, shifter, and tune for going forward and struts/shocks, springs, swaybars, tires for going sideways.

DO IT! These cars are fun, and easy to mod. Add headers, Maggie, and some other aperance mods. Would be a great car.
