Hell yeah <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
I am so relieved that SLP will be able to modify the car in order for the GTO to really represent what it was meant to. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" /> I can't wait to see what they will do with it!

I don't mean to insult anyone, but IMO, the SLP cars are just sad... more of an appearance package than performance related (read: you could duplicate/best the performance of a late-model SLP car for a fraction of the cost). I think that the SS/'hawk would have been a MUCH bigger bang-for-the-buck if they'd lost all the appearance-only stuff and received the LS6 instead. Honestly, the cost for the LS6 parts isn't THAT much over the cost of the LS1 parts (especially if you take the cost of the LS6 parts and subtract the cost of the LS1 parts that wouldn't be used), and it would have been a package that provided a SIGNIFICANT performance advantage over the base-model cars. THAT would have been worth the price of admission for me.
Make fun of Ford if you must (I know that I feel the need to... ), but their "premium" car (Cobra) provided performance that was well over and above that of their "base" car (GT), even in model years prior to '03.
Yeah, yeah, I know, the General wanted to make sure that the F-body didn't outrun the Corvette... and even with the LS6, I don't think it would have, due to nothing more than the weight advantage that the 'Vette enjoys.
IMO, '92 was the last year that Firehawks were impressive... ~345 hp from an L98 (including a completely custom intake, the T-Ram), a 'Vette ZF 6 speed, etc... good stuff. Although, once again, the price of admission (@$40k) was pretty steep.

Hopefully they can take some time and get the 02 production numbers on the firehawks.before they start building these!!!Also how can they have ss numbers and no hawk numbers?

I wanted the Hawk for the hood, limited build number(means nothing)
And the optional suspension.
I didn't plan on modding the hawk when i got it so i ordered everything that i'd want.
Well the modding came anyway of course.
I can't wait to see the GTO on the road.
I just hope i can tell it from a grand prix.

I like the car the way it is. Kinda like why I chose a more "vanilla" Camaro over a flamboyant Trans Am.
I like to walk quietly but carry a big stick if you know what I mean.
And to those complaining about power, how long do think it'll take for many of us GTO owners to up the ante over what the LS6 package would provide us anyway with aftermarket combos! I know mine will be "enhanced".
