I mated a puck 11 11/16" disk to a 02 Z06 type PP and had good luck with it holding power. It had pedal drop @ 6.2k+ though. It seems that just switching to a puck type disk is what makes the biggest difference. I bought the disk for about $200. Never dyno'd. The car has a 90/90, AFR 225's, 228/230 XER and LT's w/no cats. Point being that $1100 for any single disk is a bit excessive when you consider the parts....especially on this one.

'proprietary f1 disk material' is where the money is at, you buy stock GM parts from whoever got the contract from GM for next to nothing. slap on some new material and walk around with some coin.

I would've atleast painted it nice and pretty, and not leave the GM part number on it

LOL!! Yea, even the other mfg's have that much sense!! Anyway, the idea of an iron flywheel being preferred is laughable at best. You can get a steel flywheel that weighs the same as a GM iron one without the brittleness. As far as proprietary puck material is concerned, I cant dispute it but seriously doubt that 12 puck shaped pads can constitute all those hundreds of dollars.

HAHAHA, so the "lightweight steel billet flywheel designed for roadracing" turns out to be a stock GM part? Amazing! I wonder if you can order the plate and disc without the stupid waste of a flywheel since I already have a real billet flywheel?

Im confused though, I have seen this flywheel referred to as both billet for rodracing and also as cast for drag racing. Someone is being mislead.

The pressure plate thing makes sense though, most aftermarket companies use Valeo (stock) and Luk (stock) plate housings but they change out all the guts and stuff to make them high clamp plates.

Default So what is it?

From a website
These clutches are your answer to a high power holding clutch but with out the feel of a race car. This clutch will hold 700+hp and feel like stock.

Features:

Iron ore disk(same material as f1 race cars)
Single Disk
Billet steel flywheel option for road racing
2800 lbs clamping force
Rated to 750hp/750tq
Proprietary springs

Kit comes with pilot bearing, throw out bearing,& line up tool.

This clutch has been tested on 4000lbs+ cars and held better and longer then other leading TWIN disk clutches! LIMITED LIFETIME warranty if installed by dealer.

And here is a quote another website

Some may question the quality of utilizing a cast flywheel, so here is a break down as to why we think it’s the best choice for our configuration. Most of our research came back showing us a majority of consumers that would be utilizing this product would be drag racing instead of circle track or road course racing. Inertia is a friend to a drag racer. Once the car is powered up at the starting line and releases the clutch, when the engine has reached maximum rpm and a shift needs to take place, the heavier flywheel will keep the engine revving higher longer between shifts than a lighter flywheel. The lighter flywheel shows better use and application on a circle or road track because a driver needs to slow the car down in the turns but get it back to speed quickly. A lighter flywheel will accomplish this better in that situation. We will be offering a light weight solution for our clutch package shortly. "
So what is it? Does someone not know the products that they sell or what? The billet is supposed to be out in the future but the package for sale says thats what it is!! So anyone that bought one of these kits could have just had their stock flywheel resurfaced ($50) instead of paying a lot of $$ for a single kit that even includes a stock flywheel. , well not me but others.

The Luk pro gold disk and PP for earlier chevys sells for roughly $220 at various places and you just go down to the local clutch specialist and have them make a sprung hub, puck disk for another $125-$150. Its a non adjustable PP and you have to shim the slave but no big deal really. You just have to measure your clearances. That'll leave you $745 to buy a flywheel and have the assem. balanced!

Oh well, I would rather deal with a company that has professional dealers, not a bunch of yahoos who like to get on the forums and bash other clutches and people.

Jimmy no one has bashed any other dealers clutches. Different people have shared their experiences with different manufacturers. Not buying a product because a middle man that you don't like is a little silly. You are entitled to your opinions about a product and you are entitled to dislike someone. I don't dislike you and have nothing against you it just seems you stick your foot in your mouth over this one person. Lets just let it die and have fun.

On a side note, is the DOTCom shootout still on??

I have not heard anything else about the DOTCom shootout though, I think we could really go down there and open some eyes about our cars.

Keep me up to date on that either here or on LS1GTO, it seems that the thread died overthere. I am hoping to work out my hicups with my nitrous by then.

Oh not a bid deal, I just have a solenoid that went out. Before that it was an arched hose I had to replace, bad fittings.

I have this new nano kit and haven't been able to use it. Something new always comes up

Maybe you can get a refund and just buy a stock ls7 system and save some coin.
