A predator can tune for headers and intake but doesn't have enough capabilities to tune for a cam. You're better off getting a pro tune or buying HP Tuners or EFI live if you want to tune it on your own.

x5 on the dyno tune. You can a get a good dyno tune for the price of a handheld and it be much better and you will know what your car puts down. And I would just wait till you get the cam in and take it to get tuned.

The SLP Predator is about the best hand-held for the GTO, and offers a pretty damn good header tune. If you have the money, get one now, and then get a dyno tune latter after the rest of your mods. You can save custom tunes to the hand-held, and modify them as needed. Don't waste your money on the SuperChips tuner. We tested one at the track about a month ago and actually went slower with it on.

SLP Predator is a good, ok choice for the mean time. Personally if I were you; as well as coming from experience go and get an actual dyno tune from a known or reputable shop. Then you can go back for your cam whenever you get it and it'll be most likely cheaper. Plus that specfic tuner know's your car and doesn't have to re-write a tune from scratch. They modify with you bolt on tune. Just easier also.
An actual dyno tune will tell you everything, need or want to know in regards to tune; car, power, timing and air to fuel ratio. Etc...
Also with any problems that may occur.
In my opinion, as well in the long run, it's worth it.
