I was wondering if there is a way to get the power outlet to work while the car is parked. I have a 06 and when I stick my phone on the charger the outlet loses its power when I take the key out, is there a way around it?

I suppose you could find a non switched power source and splice that into the outlet instead of its current source.

that kinda sucks it works that way, not a big deal i guess but not very convienient either. oh well i guess i can adapt, car has only 5500 kiles on it so im not hackin into it anytime soon lol

Turn the radio on. Sounds stupid I know, but when you have the key out of the ignition the radio will still turn on and the power accesory outlet will come on as well. Believe it stays on for around 20 mins before shutting off though. You can still cycle it on again and just mute it to save the battery... Try it!

I don't want to give false information, but under the side panel on the passenger side of the center console is a pack of wires. Guys you that spot for remote wires for amps. There is most likely a constant power source there. That would be uber easy to figure out and tap the wire

All gtos have a plug and play outlet under the radio in the compartment. It is there for the smokers package. You can either go to gmpartsdirect and buy the smokers pack for 75 or you can wire into it.
