1st time Drag racing results...
Good times at the track this past Sunday. Wasn't soo good for this guy the first few runs. Going in a total novice not knowing where to line up and spinning all over the place. But I progressively got better.... You can hear in some of the vids when I hit 2nd it's redline..., spinning and wheel hopping all over the place. Time's were as follows: First run- 14.236@ 106.81mph w/a 2.471 60 ft..... Second run-13.578@ 109.79mph w/a 2.474 60ft..... Third run-
13.024@ 110.96 w/a 2.151 60ft..... Fourth run- 12.774@ 110.81 w/a 1.985 60 ft.... Fourth run I dialed in @ 12.90 trying to be optimistic and low and behold I busted out w/the 12.77. Not too shabby for first time at the track and w/extremely bald 30 series General Exclaim 19's, and gooey clutch making it real fun trying to get into 4th... We'll see what some drag radials(and a spare axle:bomb, and a new clutch will do next time. Oh yeah, one of the funniest comments was from a pair of guys who were checking out my car in the staging lanes waiting to race,"You run a 12.7 and drive the car daily??" Me w/a befuddled look on my face,"Hells yeah and it still gets 26 mpg". Don't think they believed a word I said but it was funny nontheless.....
Rookies!!lol

That's actually not a bad mph for a heads/cam '04 (LS1 car). You guys that are saying those trap speeds suck are running LS2 cars. Makes a difference. There is a local '04 with basically the same mods, only his is an A4, and he is running almost identical times and traps.
Nice runs mrtosh! Get some drag radials on that thing, and you should be able to run some real nice times.

Yeah, cause I was going out to break records my first time at the track. Don't know if you read that I was running bald 19's either? Either way next time will be better.

Quite a bit of the power from the LS2 vs the LS1 comes from the different cam and heads that they got. His car has aftermarket heads/cam/exhaust/ect. Of course the LS2 still has 20 more cubic inches, but it wouldn't make THAT much of a difference in his trap speed. I'm sure his car is making more power on mine due to him having heads and I still was able to trap 116MPH in 3000+ DA.

Your times aren't terrible but there is much room for improvement. The DA is very important in determining how far off your car is from what everyone says it "should" run. Also, given your times, it appears you are pretty new at this-so it will take time for you to get more precise shifts and launches. Good luck

Even still you managed to get a decent 60' time. For that 60' time you should have had a much better ET and those trap times should have been around 115-117. Even with that 60' you should have been in the low 12's...

i was referring more to the trap speed. the trap doesnt really change too much no matter how many times u run it. trap is indicative of the cars power. and ive seen several stock 04's at 600 or so DA run 13.5@105 with a 2.0 sixty foot. so your heads, cam, bolt on car is only 5mph higher???? and my buddies with simple weight reduction and no cats run @109, u r only 1mph higher with heads cam??? see my point?
