Well talked to a few people at the dealer today after making several calls.

WAS going to go drive a blue one they had just got in, and a burgundy one but they both got sold before we could make it. The idea was while we drive another g8 to see how it feels, they could look at the exhaust..again.

No solution offered yet, just that "they will make this right" for the 50th time when there should have been no problems to begin with.

This is becoming quite a hassel and im not sure whats ever going to come of this. I know their tone changed after we let them know we have been in contact with GM. Gonna try and find a few other g8s to go drive and see how they feel compared to each other.

So, called back since no one called me back today yet.

They told me THEY WILL NOT FIX THE EXHAUST because there was nothing wrong it. (Even though this WASNT disclosed to us that it had been modified and "CPO")

So our GM rep just happened to call right after I got done talking with Stoops.

Will update later today.

Well ended up taking a little drive out to Stoops today, just got back home.

Talked to Kelly (service manager), we really couldn't come to an agreement yet. Last night John was told he could *possibly* switch to the blue G8 they had. Today wasn't the same case, it may no longer be an option. The General manager Jim, said he would NOT replace the exhaust, as there was nothing wrong with it.
Kelly said they have gone above and beyond to make this car right.

I still have a slight pull (and this exhauxst issue) and ended up driving the blue G8 we previously thought had been sold. It pulled MUCH harder to the right, and had a broken hazard button. However, the transmission shifted smoother than ours! The rear fenders also buldged out a little bit.

John is expecting to hear back from GM tomorrow around 11am to see what our next step will be.

Fuck that, I'd be past the point of talking to a lawyer and threatening to sue now.

Well we will see what Breanna with GM has to say. She wasnt very happy about all the wrong paperwork and such and how many times we have been in for a CPO car.

Even if they did fix everything I would still want another car. Who knows what else is in store in with that car.

I'd be in full legal action mode at this point. I really hope you get a solution that you are happy with. I'd want GM to buy that POS back no question. I wouldn't want another G8.

Here is our dilema with a buy back.

This is our only car
Just refinanced the house monday (so credit has fluxuated)
The $$ for down payment was the car we traded in for this one...

The right lawyer can get you the $ you would have gotten from the car you traded.

Yeah, I'd basically be demanding that they buy the car back - this is ridiculous and how could they not notice that exhaust? I'd bet most dealers would notice if you took it in for warranty work.

Still the trouble and time involved. Only car and cant go without. Just refinanced the house monday, so my credit has changed since when I bought this car. And I have no down payment anymore.

Im not sure if at this point its worth getting another g8. Half of this car has been replaced just about, and the other one they had was not anywhere near as good as ours =/ thats a scary thought to go through all this again...

Missing catalytic converters from a "CPO" car should be what your pursuing... with the FEDS. They go apeshit over screwing with or removing these things. Huge huge fines, and a dealer selling it as a CPO has certified they inspected it and it was up to snuff. I'd mention something about missing cats being a violation of federal emissions laws and possibly failing a visual emissions inspection at some point and your concerns over federal laws being violated and feel out their reaction.

I bet the right person at GM would shit out a cactus if they heard a car with missing cats was CPO'd

no cats missing, that was established that they were pup cats.

Is the rep from GM of any help yet? Is there another local GM dealer you could take it to? Id have her make the call for you to set up the appointment with another dealer and get a second opinion. You are going through way more trouble with this car than you should have man and even though im not involved I feel like I need to apoligize. I guess thats the customer service side of me lol. If you were local I could have already had this shit handled. Btw, if they end up buying the car back they have to give you a check for the amount of your trade in.

GM has been helpful, and have been willing to start the buyback process, but john wants to give the dealer the opportunity to make things right.
i dont think we can do the buy back though. This is our only car, credit score has changed, and lacking any $$ down now.

They can work around that, GM can help push the financing through GMAC and when they buy back the car they are going to have to give you a check for the amount of your trade in. If this is the case, I would suggest telling GM youll gladly buy another vehicle but it will be from another GM dealer.

Another question I had, during all of these warranty repair visits did you ever get a survey?

Id make sure to mention that to the GM rep. You are supposed to get a survey for warranty work, if youve filled one out you wont get another for 90 or 180 days or something like that. The service advisors get payed based on survey scores so they usually get really helpful once you rip their ass on a survey. At this point I wouldnt let the dealership have anymore chances, Id work directly through your GM rep and tell them what you want to happen.
