You shouldn't even tell them it's an LS series...When asked you should just say it's a 364 (assuming you haven't done anything to up the displacement). They will probably look at you like you just punched them.
With my Formula: "Does that thing have a 350 in it?" "No, 346" "Oh, that must be a Pontiac engine."
i came across an idiot the other day to.
he asked if my car was fs? 2000 ws6.
me:i was like nah, im strait. car not for sale.
idiot: why is something wrong with it?
me: nope. pulls like a train.
idiot: yea i heard sounds good when you rolled in, what all is done to it?
me: all the bolt ons, tune, fast intake, hidden spray.
idiot:???? fast intake????
you know all those parts decrease the engine life and void warranty.and if you ever ran noss thru it it prolly alredy ate your seals?
idiot: well if your down, i got bout 4-5k$ cash money if you decide to sell.
me: plenty of cars on cl for that price, least i will take is 12 g's
idiot: wow too much u take rest payments.
me: nah, cash money only, aight, i gotta flip.
One benefit of driving my 6 I guess is I don't have anyone asking me stupid sale questions. Even if they did I'd flat out tell them no. I just got it recently, I have no intention of selling it.
What does irk me a little is when people ask if it is a v8 and I say no, then they go degrading the car and/or me over it. I like it for what it is now, and have big plans for it in the future, and that's all that matters. MY car, not theirs, so they can shut it.
So many people just need to mind their own business.

with something like that, rather than argue....pick a price. everything has one.
with me, i've already had a half dozen people ask me if my gt's for sale. i don't hesitate. i look right at em, and tell em that they can have it for $38k. if someone actually gives me that, then i won't miss it, 'cause that's more than enough to pay off what i owe, and put a VERY nice down payment on a 013 boss302.

why the HELL can't i get my camaro to ******* show up here????
if you don't agree with me, i'll come over there, and stab ya in the eyeball with a spoon. a TABLE spoon, so i can get all the gooey stuff attached to your eyeball too.
when i sold my SS it was a weird situation as i was at sonic hanging out with some friends and a guy comes up and asks if i want to sell...."sure for the right price" then he calls his brother to come to sonic
he gets there checks the car out (cammed 99 ss with all the bolt-ons/built 4l60 with a stall/spray/18 inch tt2's.....110k miles) and i really didnt want to sell it but earlier during the week i was talking with a friend about what we would take to sell our cars and i said 14k being thats exactly what i had in it
dude asks me how much i want so i tell him then he comes back with "ok man i'll have the cash monday" he was not kidding and called me a 8 am and paid me cash......i wish i would not have sold it but it is hard to say no to 14 thousand dollars cash

That's rare. My buddy just picked up a C5 for 9K and sold it for 13K. He had the same thing happen to him.
When i sold my 87 monte carlo ss aerocoupe i had 1 guy checking it out who asked "now why should i buy this car over the 88 mustang gt down the street thats $500 less?"
I laughed and just said hey if you want a mustang go buy it!
I had that 4 sale locally for 3500 back in `04 and only had a few nibbles, put it on ebay after 2mos and bam it sold for 4700 within the week. The guy came to pick it up and was psych`d about its condition and price he paid.
When i bought my `96 z28 it was at a car show and the guy had just pulled in and put a 4sale sign on the windshield. I talked to the guy for a bit about the car then started talkin him down from 11k, got him to 9k and we shook hands on it cause i had to run home to grab the loot. Right after we shook hands an evesdropper pipped up and said "no way he talked you down to 9k?? I`ll pay you 12.5k for it right now!"
i could see the guy kicking himself in the *** but he looked at me and said sorry guy we already shook hands on it. Phew! I should of flipped it but owel

Had a guy recently going around my neighborhood paving driveways go out of his way to walk down to my house and ask if I wanted to sell, few people I've ran into over the year I've had it have done the same. I don't mind, I take it as a compliment, means all my elbow grease from waxing, polishing, washing, vacuuming, etc., etc., is paying off.
Not really anything special at all. But I couldn't buy another Malibu, convert it to SS everything (from 12 bolt to dash), lsx swap it, and replace rust and interior parts for what it is "worth". And that doesn't even include heads/cam/stall/etc. Plus then I'm back at square one fixing other people's hidden mistakes and stuff.
I would value my car at ~$6k in this economy, maybe get $8k for it if I fixed a couple other small things and waited for the right buyer. If it were painted pretty well I might even get $10k. Any less than almost double that isn't worth me getting rid of it...and for that a person could buy a clean big block car that the lay man would consider "show worthy".
It's worth more to me than to anyone else, and it's priced accordingly. Don't like it? Find one that's really for sale.
Uhh, I've seen total pieces of **** go for 3-5k. Your smoking crack if you think your running driving car that is DDable is less than 18k easy. Lol. Maybe it's where I am but rust bucket'd hunks of **** go for 2k all day.
I get what you mean thunderstruck. Sometimes a car is worth more than a dollar amount. I never intend to get sell my car. I'm attached to it and no price is worth it to me.

You know whiteknight, I've been watching you post ignorant **** since you joined and not really said much. But your recent constant trolling (especially in SR&K) proves you have become one of the biggest pieces of **** on this site.
But to create a troll account to spew the same type of garbage means you're also a ***** about being a useless member under your own account. Bravo sir, you really got me.

Whenever I take out our split bumper 73 Camaro I get the usual chit chat at red lights, gas stations and stuff. "What year is it?" "what's under the hood" blah blah blah, but never people trying to buy it. Then again I won't even leave the thing in a parking lot 10 feet from where I'm standing.
My 99 WS6 that most people on here know me from I got lucky with. It was the same thing as a few of you, had the car for a few years, EVERYTHING on the car was done to my liking, and then I did a complete rebuild. Heads/cam, fast 90/90, full exhaust, almost full suspension, everything.. I got bored with it and threw it up on ebay for $14,500 (89K miles). Kid called me up, asked how much I wanted, so I replied "$14,000." "Okay I'll have to see when I can get up there and pick it up." Came up and got the car for $14! Awesome part was it seemed like it already meant as much to him as it did me... almost.
When my Dad was 20 he had a 71 Camaro, all done up. It was sitting out front and a woman rang the doorbell, "Is the car for sale?" my grandparents politely replied that it was not. Next morning it was gone, stolen.
But you want to talk about people giving STUPID offers, and trying to tell you how much YOUR car is worth? You don't have to tell me!
