Default A&A Corvette autocross video. 5/21-22/2011

Went down to Auto Club Speedway Saturday. Was a little frustrated with my driving/course. Seem like I couldn't put together a great lap. Just average ones with big mistakes. On decreasing radius corners you have two choices in autocross. Run the tight line in the beginning of the corner to save distance, but give up speed at the exit. The other way is run a wide line all the way around and do a late apex with more speed on the exit. That would be a typical road race line. The problem with that is, more distance and possibly dirty out wide with no real straight away after the corner. I couldn't make up my mind. Here's the video. Tied 2nd. overall out of 80 cars.

Sunday I raced a friends 04 Z06 Corvette. The class we ran in was SK1. Stock car with street tires. Had a good run with not to many mistakes. 1st. in class. About 22nd. overall out of 145 cars.

Just thinking outloud here... any thought about double-apexing these? Seems like your car has mad-pull out of the hole so who knows, it may could help...

Double apexing might work, but my car has a hard time rotating in the middle of the corner.

I have a race this Sunday 6/12. A lot of fast guys are showing up. Made a sway bar change in the front and changed the camber in the rear. I'm going with a positive attitude and a fast car. Let's see what happens. I'll post the video.

Thanks.

I don't have that much power. 385rwhp. But my car only weighs #2740. Driving any car at the limit is not that easy. It's a very fine line between going slow or overdo it. It gets even harder on old tires. Old tires being 60 laps. I'm already for tomorrows race.
