Need new shocks and springs on car that occasioanlly sees track time 2000 Z28. It sees track time every now and again.
I don't mind harshness, but I'd like to retain as much factory ride height as possible. Also, I don't know what happens to factory geometry when it's lowered.
Since it's an old car that sees maybe 2 track days a year, budget is the word.

Either way you can stick with your stock springs as long as they are not sagging.
Do a search here and in the suspension section there are topics like this all the time. You will want a sport shock, not a drag shock (so stay away from QA1s, Afco, Strange) and look into Bilstiens, KYB AGX, and Konis. Depending on budget you can always get a custom valved shock as well.

I'm more worried about messing up suspension geometry and having a worse handling lower car.
Ground clearance is nice, but it's not a deal breaker. I don't want to slam it, but a mild drop wont have me scraping anything.
