Default How is your FIXED BACK race seat mounted?

I am looking at putting Corbeau FX1's in my car. The wide version on the drivers side.

Pics and info on how your fixed back seat is mounted please.

with Cobra brackets on a slider using factory bolt holes, don't have pics. nothing really rocket science about it, I bet something as simple as Arizen brackets/slider would work..

Four 1/4-20 grade 8 bolts with heavy fender washers.

Bolts into a section of 1 1/2" square tube with 1/4-20 threaded inserts welded into one side.

Square tubes are welded to the factory seat channels on the floor.

On an aluminum seat, drill through the seat and mount.

With a composite seat, use the 90* angle side mounts.

If I bought an aluminum seat, I am looking at a Ultrashield Rallysport seat, and Corbeau brackets....can I bolt the seat directly to the bracket with a plate in the bottom of the seat to spread the load?

Or does it need to be mounted with the side plates?

I use fender washers to spread the load. No need for a plate.

An aluminum seat will need a back brace braced against a cross bar.

Only FIA rated seats don't require a back brace.

Correct me if I'm wrong Mitch, but I heard this year that NASA (and some other HPDE places following the heard) are requiring back braces on all fixed back seats put into a street car? Have you heard anything about this?

No, I haven't heard that. but it wouldn't surprise me.

The unsupported upper section sees probably 90% of the G-Forces in an impact.
