Okay, I don't mean to be Mr. ******* or anything like that.
I just know that some guys (including myself) like to really enjoy our cars and see what they can do on the street.
This video made me change my mind completely.
I know some accidents are inevitable but let's try to prevent as many as we can and live to see our families every night okay?

Watch this.

This is way too depressing man. When I drive like an asshat I usually make sure I have plenty of room and am completely aware of my surroundings.

I'm sorry if it offended you. Not my intentions.

See they should show THIS in driver's ed, as opposed to those other boring cartoonish safety videos.

**** just got real.

This should be in the Street Racing & Kill (kind of apt for this video) Stories section.

Circuits tend to be a bit safer with run offs and no road furniture like signposts and street lights to hit...

Saying that, I couldn't believe how bad the 5 hour prelicensing course I had to take was. It was basically watching cartoons, some old 60s video made by Ford, an episode of Dr. Phil and a few inane questions. There was a video showing some mangled cars and body parts, but it wasn't that great.

Drive safe and WEAR YOUR GOD DAMN SEAT BELT! It is amazing how many people in the year 2012 still don't wear a ******* seat belt. "Oh it's a pain in the ***." BULLSHIT. It takes 2 seconds to put it on and take it off. I'd rather put a seat belt on than spend the rest of my life in diapers getting spoon fed.

And don't get me started on motorcycle riders who don't wear helmets... WTF is wrong with some people!

I agree with Echo Mirage and steev182, why is this here? This is the road racing section not the street racing section. We enjoy our cars on the tracks to the fullest on the tracks, hence the name of the sub forum "Road Racing".

Can a Mod a move this thread since it contains no useful or relative information for the road racing sub forum.

I hear ya. I actually don't mind a seat belt at all!
I feel kind of odd without one.

I feel like I'm not connected to a car if my seatbelt isn't on, like I don't have as much control...

True that. I refuse to ride in a car without functioning seatbelts... Of course, I almost died in a head-on with an F-250 when I was 12. Three things I learned that day-

1) Going through a windshield ******* HURTS.

2) Dislocating your hip and fracturing your pelvis ******* HURTS A GODDAMNED LOT.

3) Seatbelts tend to keep the above to things from happening, but only if you happen to be wearing them.

I spent two weeks in traction, had surgery, and had to use a walker for three months and crutches for three more, and had wear a Forrest Gump brace for the entire six. Not to mention all of the incredibly painful physical therapy.

I went through the fifth grade not being able to play football, run, ect. I had scars on my face from safety glass, and I had so much hardware I looked like a retarded RoboCop. All of that would have been avoided if I had been wearing a seatbelt.

Since that accident, I've been in quite a few more. (Only two that were my fault, the others are just bad luck)
-I flipped my old Escort- Fine. Walked home.

-I hit a Suburban that pulled out in front of me- fine, until I broke my hand punching the dash.

-Went head on with a FLATBED WORK TRUCK going around a blind corner in a CRX- Bruised ribs, 15 stitches, and a bottle of Percocet later, I was fine. (I'd like to note that my seatbelt actually BROKE while it was slowing me down... I don't even want to know what the steering wheel would have done to my ribs if I HADN'T been wearing the belt)

-Got rear-ended at a stopsign by a drunk driver going about 50- Walked away fine.

-Ran my old Integra into a guardrail going about 70- broken nose from the airbag, otherwise fine.

-Got t-boned in my old RSX- Walked away.

Notice a pattern? I do. I pretty much walked away from all of them... That CRX crash? My mom thought I was DEAD. She got there after the ambulance had left, and all she saw was the pile of twisted metal that used to be a car. The intake manifold got pushed THOUGH the firewall, the steering wheel got mangled... It look less like a car wreck and more like a car BOMB. If I hadn't been wearing my seatbelt, I have no doubt that I would have died.

PLEASE, WEAR YOUR DAMNED SEATBELTS.

I feel naked without a seatbelt. When I used to go off roading and having to jump in and out of the truck alot sometimes I wouldn't buckle back up.

That was until I hit a mud hole going to fast without it and about knocked myself out on the roof of the cab.

You guys seen this one?

Seems to me they were moving at a pretty nice clip given the poor visibility.

Horrible Vid, but true. Yeah I love to speed/race on the street from time to time but it's out of traffic by myself. Even that is still dangerous.
