Default What Suspension Mods for 99 FRC with 408ci Iron Block?

Do you guys think I will do fine with the Z51 suspension or do I need to upgrade to one of these?

BMR Sway Bars and HALS
Z06 Sway Bars and 04 Z06 Shocks
T1 Sway Bars and HALS
Hotchkis Sway Bars and 04 Z06 Shocks

Now I do not plan to hit a road course very often, but I would like to handle ok with the iron block. Looking for a street/road course setup.

I think you'll do pretty well with the Z51. Might want slightly heavier front springs but I dont think that'll be an issue honestly

Has anyone tried the BMR sway bar setup?

Use the T1 swaybars. You won't be disapointed.

The weight difference is just 100# right? I think you'll be fine with your plans..

Glad to see the new plan is coming together for you.

Thanks.. I just want to do it right. I am still learning about the C5 parts. I would love to go T1 sway bars, but some say it is overkill for the street.

Another suggestion would be to go to the T1 bar for the front and the stock bar for the rear. The 04 Z06 shocks are great if you do a lot of track time and autocrossing. Also, use the metal end links on the sway bars (99 C5 used plastic). Finally get a dual alignment (mark the road course settings with a paint stick for when you get to the track) and run you regular set up for the street.

Well I purchased the BMR bars, but I have not put them on yet. 32mm solid front and 19mm rear solid. How do you guys think this setup will be? My car is lowered and I am wondering if I will need to swap shocks as well?

Hey Vince, just go w/ '04 Z shocks and '02-up springs along w/ those bars. You should be very happy w/ that setup & I think it'll give you what you're looking for...
