Alignment Specs.
Lou or anyone else that cares to input, do you have an alignment specs thats all around good for street and high speed road courses?
I have a printout of what i have now, nothing to complain about but i wonder if you have a base config for street/track that i can probaly compare with as a guideline.
My 98Z is lowered with all the goodies.
Thanks,
Henry98Z

Re: Alignment Specs.
Prior to the Kumho's supra 712's i had the comp/ta's that i ran in road america and street (spring 2001). Despite what the "internet" concensus is saying about the Kumho's 712's, i had better grip and stability on the street with the comp/ta's with my current setup.
Will also have the bump steer kit installed in a couple weeks and i rather have some alignment config to give them, i want a 2nd opinion from someone experienced on the track and cars of my current alignment specs that i can play around with or change.
Thanks!
rims: 17x9.5 enkie rims
tires: Kumho supra 712's 275/40/17 (cold pressure 35lb)
torque arm adj @ -4 degree(global west)
subframes (alston)
lower control arms (hotchkis)
lower control arm brackets (global west)
springs (eibach pro-kit)
shocks adj. (KYB AGX)
sway bars 35mm/25mm (suspension techniques)
panhard adj.(rksport adjustable)
trans mount bushing (engergy suspension)
4pt diag roll bar (rksport)
shock tower brace (hotchkis)
left front:
camber= -0.7
caster= 5.4
right front:
camber= -0.8
caster= 5.4
Front:
cross camber= 0.2
cross caster= -0.0
total toe= 0.15
set back= -0.21

Re: Alignment Specs.
Oh, well, going back to the specs above, bump steer kit was installed, getting the z aligned today.
A circle track racer did this alignment for me before road america last spring.
Feel free to play with this config since no one has any specs to share.
Thanks.

Re: Alignment Specs.
Sorry, but I have been overwhelmed with work lately! here is what I would try:
go a full degree or more on the camber, if you have a helper at the track, get him to take tire temps after you come in, that can be very valuable for tuning. 5-6* of caster is a good start, and make sure that you have about 36-38 #of tire pressure HOT. Begin at 30-32, and Check temps and pressures when you come off the track.
The toe is good, 125 thou- 187 thou is good Toe out, and make sure that under susp. travel, you get toe out, not toe in(bumpsteer it) after that, post your results, and we'll analyze them and make changes from there. sorry for the delay, but I hope that this helps!

Re: Alignment Specs.
Thanks, i had gave them the same specs posted above. Maybe have it measured in spring for the acutal readings.
Bumpsteer is not as "dramatic" but still exists a little bit.
Have to break in the new clutch once winter is over.

Re: Alignment Specs.
G2 - how much of this will apply to a 3rd Gen?
I plan on using the Ground Control adj caster/camber plate setup with a set of the Eibach springs in the 350 to 380 lb/" range and some of the Tokico 5 way adj struts.
