I'm moving this to the roadracing section.

And I think the answer is no.

Default F-Body Rear Lower Control Arms

Does anyone know if any models such as SS use boxed rear lower control arms? I'm setting up my 98 Z-28 for SCCA E Street Prepared class and it allows me to use the boxed arms if they came standard on any model.

Thanks

Doesn't the new SLP/1LE option have boxed LCAs and P.Bar? It's not standard, it's a option.

Yes, you can buy boxed versions from SLP, but why would you? Regular 1LE ones are much better.

You cannot get the boxed LCA's or panhard on a stock car, even from SLP. They are part of the upgraded SLP Level 1 suspension kit, which is sold over the counter. The 1LE LCA's are the same stamped piece as stock, but they have stiffer rubber bushings that are not windowed like the stock arms.

When I put the Nitto 555R-II tires on the T/A, it began to wheelhop violently on a hard launch (stock suspension). Simply adding 1LE LCA's and panhard (not boxed) cured it. I installed the SLP Level 1 kit on the T/A and am very happy with it. I would have bought the boxed arms if paying retail, but I got a great deal on the lower end kit. I will probably replace the 1LE LCA's with LG poly/rod end LCA's this summer, and put the newer 1LE parts on the 1LE to replace the battle worn stockers <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0"> The Camaro has almost 25K hard miles on the stock 1LE parts, and it has never wheel hopped on acceleration (braking is a different story).

This is how much the SLP Eibach's lowered it:

I got a 2000 SS and the lower control arms are the same as on the other cars. Stamped steel. I put on a set of Spohn's to fix it.

Actually, SLP's level 1 kit doesn't include boxed LCA's or PHR. You can buy the reinforced LCA's & PHR that SLP sells, but the regular 1LE stuff is just as good. I think that for roadracing boxed isn't the way to go, so just get the 1LE stuff. The GM part# is 10164151.

EDIT: Just noticed that you can go one-up on the Level 1 kit & get the reinforced stuff.
