Default New Toy to Road Race With

I've had my eye on these for a while, finally had a chance to pick one up - a little red 92 Miata.

Has a Hard Dog roll bar, K&N, and Borla on the way - should keep me satisfied until we do the engine conversion this fall.

Maybe I'll have some fun at Road Atlanta in this thing!

Congratulations, John. That is a nice car; glad I got to see it. Perfect weather this time of year in the 'ham for a vert - I know you'll enjoy it.

Hey Jerry!

Sorry to run off on you the other day, I got a page from my wife basically saying "dinner is ready where the heck are you?" so I took off rather quickly.

Thanks for your help test driving the car. The Borla is on the way as well as a new top.

V8 conversion plans are in the works for this fall. We'll see what develops.

Sweet cars ...

At Motorsports Ranch, which is a very technical course, Spec Miatas run the same lap times and faster as my R compound shod LS1.

Welcome to last week j/k You have just found out what thousnad of people have known since they came out in 1989, Miata's are insane in the twisties! At a recent local SCCA event, OVER 1/2 of the filed of 60+ cars were Miatas. I used to know thme bad, until we picked up a black/tan leather SE 92 for my wife. FUN I bought myself one 4 months later! I beat the **** out of mine everyday. I have a K&N panel, and a 2 1/4 no cat back on it, it pulls well past the 7k redline, and make a hell of a racket doing it. This car is so confidnece inspiring. I think the LS1 swap is going to be difficult, and kind of contraditory to what the Miata is about, but man will it kill some people!! Congrats!

If I were to get a car strictly for autoX, a miata would definatly be on my list (bad thing about them...lots of competition). For daily driving though, I'll take my f-bod

Probably just because I toss the top down at lunch, even on the way to work (and I work at a bank!), and these little tires make it easy to slide around corners, etc.
