Here is the Hawk LS Series Harmonic Balancer Installation Tool. It has been on market for over 10 years now and proven itself to be a must when installing a harmonic balancer. Universal installer tool kits do not work well with the GM LS Series motors. No longer do you have to chance stripped or damaged crank threads trying other installation methods.
There are two versions offered, the GM LS1, LS6, LS2 & LS3 or the GM LS7. The GM LS7 version is approximately 3 inches longer due to the deeper crank threads in the GM LS7. So the tool needs to be longer. The GM LS7 version can be used on other LS motors but there may be clearance issues with the added length of the tool during use.

1. Some are selling the wrong thread pitch.
2. The cheaper ones are great when you use it the first time and that is what most people will do, use it once, but use it a couple more times and it breaks.
3. That sliding piece will break itself after a couple use whereas ours won't. You know why? The piece we use is made in the USA, whereas the others is made in China.
Most people don't realize #2 because they never use the tool again.
