Selling this LC9 aluminum 5.3L project I was working on putting together for a future project but found the engine in the car was still good so I'm selling this.
I will only sell the engine seperate -I have other engine builds going here I can use the parts for so I will only sell all, just the short block, or nothing.
Miles are not definite but was believed to be around 150-160k miles -engine was pulled due to AFM sticking in 4-cyl mode (original AFM valley cover electronics failure). No damage to engine itself -original cam is still installed and has no visible damage. Pistons, cylinder walls and rest of shortblock appear to be in great shape. Even the AFM lifters were in good shape when removed.
Factory hone marks (cross hatching) is very nice in all of the cylinder bores.
Engine spins over easily and smoothly by bare hand (no breaker bar or any sort of tools).

*NEW GM Oil Galley Plug/Plunger
*NEW GM Valve Spring Retainers (x16)
*NEW GM Valve Locks (x16 pairs)
***NEW GM LS3 Water Pump w/Gaskets & Bolts
***NEW GM LS3 Harmonic Balancer w/Bolt
***NEW GM LS3 Water Pump & Harmonic Balancer are off a crate engine and were never run.
I would recommend a new oil pump as well -Melling 10295 or 10296, to replace the factory AFM/DOD oil pump.
Put the included valve spring kit/valve seals in a set of 243/799's along with new head gaskets/head bolts and new oil pan gasket and this is $2500+ engine.
Price for everything is $1250 + shipping for this.
Price for shortblock without any of the new parts: $700+ shipping.
Shipping to a business address (or wherever a loading dock or forklift/skidloader/etc... is available for unloading) should be under $225 anywhere in the US. I just did a shipped an identical shortblock (minus the new stuff) to a business in Louisiana for $185, but prices can vary by the day and how desperate a shipping company is to fill the last spots on their trailer.

Sorry, sold the engine today along with the LS3 water pump, harmonic balancer and valley cover.
The rest of the stuff is going to be used on another engine I have here. Selling for what I paid for each thing isn't worth the hassle of the time packaging and shipping to only have to reinvest the time to reorder each part individually again.
