I'm putting my fresh 383/AFR long block up for sale. I bought this for my T/A but sold the car before i installed it.

The heads are AFR part #1660. These are the small bore AFR 225's. They have 64cc chambers and are ready to bolt on. They are fresh from an AFR check and rebuild. They are complete with standard AFR dual springs that have 12k miles on them.

The short block is still in the crate.

04 GTO LS1 block
Eagle 4" crank
Eagle 6.200" rods
Arias -3.2cc 2618 alloy forged pistons
ARP main studs
ARP rod bolts
Clevite H bearings
Total Seal AP gapless top ring, napier 2nd ($320 ring set)

The mains were line bored with the studs installed and the cylinders were honed with an LSX specific torque plate so the mains and cylinders are perfect. Couple that with the rings that are in it and you should have a long lasting engine with good sealing. The bearing clearances are set up on the tight side as it was intended to stay N/A or take a small shot of nitrous (150 shot) and i wanted to be able to use thinner weight synthetic in it and put a lot of miles on it before a refresh.

I also have a custom spec cam for the this exact setup using a FAST 90mm intake. It is a 232/234 duration @.050, .610"/.617" 114+2 on XER lobes. 12k miles.

With an unported FAST 90mm intake and 1 3/4" headers in a C5 Z this combo made 486whp with a killer flat torque curve. It is a pretty mild cam so the low end is nasty. It went 10.66@129 with a best mph of 131. The car was full weight. With a FAST 102 this is a 500whp engine. 510whp with a bigger cam.

Pricing is as follows:

Long block(block, heads, cam)-$5500

Short block only-$4000

Heads only-$1500

Cam-$200

Price is plus shipping. I can crate and ship for a fair price in the lower 48 through freightquote. This is no fire sale. I'm selling to buy parts for my formula. This will make a great engine for a street car that is enjoyable to drive. More pictures upon request.

Night Own bump. The 04 GTO block is the best version of the LS1 block produced. This bottom end was assembled with tight tolerances and specs to make a great sealing, long lasting engine for a street car. No expense was spared in the machine work and assembly. It is still sealed in the bag from the machine shop waiting on a home. Someone give it one!

With a -3.2cc valve relief and the 64cc heads you are looking at 11.2:1 up to 11.4:1 depending on head gasket choice.
