Thumbs up 570rwhp/677rwtq....Completely Stock Engine...QMP Turbo

Just finished the final dyno tune on our Project Formula. I was amazed at the power the stock 120,000 mile engine is making.
A/F at full boost is between 11.8 and 11.5:1 straight through to 6000 rpm's.

This was done at 11lbs of boost, through straight 3" pipe exiting at the axle, on a 50/50 mix of 93octane and Turbo Blue 109. I would have turned the boost up more, but this was all we could get with the standard 5lb wastegate spring.

We also did a little more tuning at 9lbs of boost, and made 520rwhp/651rwtq at the same A/F ratio.

One other point of interest...this was also done on ET Streets, which typically rob us of 10-15rwhp.

I will post the dyno sheets to the website within 1 hour.

So what's the record for highest HP with a completely stock LS1 engine? ( I mean stock down to the valve springs)

Must be nice to not have a care in the world about blowing your car up. Nice numbers Rob now go tear it around on the streets before it starts snowing.

Congrats Rob, that is incredible! On a sidenote, what is the typical install time on the whole kit. Also, do you have the new engine packages ready to go yet? Thanks and good luck

There is no difference in the kits. This is our standard, everyday turbo kit with the T76 upgrade and 57lb injectors.

Amazing what boost and a little good tuning will do...

When we have the kits in stock, install and tuning time is about 7-10 business days.
I believe we have one kit left in stock (minus a turbo right right now).
We haven't finalized pricing yet on the engine packages, but should within a week or so.

Thanks Rob, will you have more turbo kits available at a later date? Also will all the engine packages be stock cubes?

A local guy here in Detroit made around 600rwhp with a stock motor and an incon kit. I think he posts as BlackSS or something similiar.

How long do you think this stock Turbo trans am will last? Will the motor hold up to that much power? Those are some really nice numbers Rob. That would be something i would consider but i really dont think that the stock LS1 can hold that much power without something giving.

Our whole point in doing this build-up is to see exactly what a stock ls1 can handle with proper fueling/tuning. We are going to push it to the limit....safely.

We are only running 16 degrees of timing and I've tuned it to a very safe 11.8:1 A/F. By testing the engine like this, rather than simply leaning it out to make more power, I think we may all get a better understanding of the ls1's limits.

I personally don't know of anyone else who has taken this approach. Though Mike Brown's TT car is an amazing testament to the stock bottom end at over 600rwhp.

After we get some time at the track (hopefully next weekend) with its' current HP, I will change the wastegate spring and up the boost a little more. I'd really like to see a safe 600+rwhp, on a completely stock engine. To me, that would be impressive.

The incon car was been running around for quite some time now. stock motor, valve covers to oil pan, at 600RWHP on the trusty mustang dyno.

My stock motor and incon kit was just a hair under that.

Nice going Rob! Are you using the factory PCM for everything? Just wondered since you stated 57lb injectors. Man, I gotta go back to turbo soon

wow the peak hp is so low! been a while since i have seen the very edge of a dynograph to be 6K rpms. i assume you would be shifting early, like 5500 rpms with this setup? or is this because of the weak valvesprings?
