There is absolutely nothing wrong with this motor, in fact, my original plan was to build a Factory Five GTM to put this motor into. I don’t have the space to build such a car quite yet and won’t for at least another year. I would really like to keep this engine together for a couple reasons 1) Simple transaction 2) Nothing wrong with any of the parts/installation 3) This setup is proven and POWERFUL! That being said, I will entertain the idea of splitting everything as long as there is a buyer for every single part (head gaskets, bolts, etc).
The history on the motor is very clean…
Purchased the car with 12k miles in May of ’07
February ‘08 (~22k miles) - I installed headers (completed the ‘full bolt-on’ status)
December of ‘09 (~62k miles) - http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=346891
February of ’11 (~71k miles) - http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=405386
The 9k miles in the ~1yr time frame was from highway driving as I rarely drove it in/around town unless I was headed to the track. I drove quite frequently to Dallas/Tyler, TX, New Orleans/Baton Rouge/Alexandria/Oak Grove/Lake Providence/Lake Bruin, LA, Jackson, MS, and I made a round trip to the ECS (and raced there…), routing through Kingsport/Johnson City, TN on the way back to Shreveport/Bossier City, LA which was a 2k mile trip in itself. This setup is extremely streetable as you can see.
This motor made 461rwhp (472rwhp – Covington # >>>lol, for those that get the joke) in the heat of July 4th weekend in Dallas of ’10 (Temps were well over 100*) with a 102/102 setup. It previously made 463hp/418tq (Covington #) with a LS6 intake and 80mm BBK TB directly after build in the previous winter… this is the dyno graph in the link in my sig. Both of these dynos were on 25* of timing. Oil pressure was a solid 35psi at idle and would push up to around 60-65psi at WOT, IIRC. The only issue I have had from this motor was a rear main seal, which was promptly replaced during a clutch swap in late summer/early fall of ’10 just before heading to the ECS.
At the track, I was able to put it to some 11.60s (after only a second visit to the track with DRs... in that one night, I barely beat my previous PB [12.1] down to 11.6 in only 4 passes, IIRC) with a full interior, and there is still a ton left in it, hence my 1.7x 60', lol. There is no doubt in my mind that this car could easily go 11.3s in a stalled auto. Keep in mind that the weight of the GTO with me in it was ~3900#.
I have always used synthetic oils in this motor, and before removing it, it was pushing my car to 28mpg solid on the highway, cruising at 70-75mph. I have also pushed it to 31-31mpg with LC enabled, cruising 60-65mph. Upon removing this motor, I remove the spark plugs, placed some oil in the cylinders, rotated the motor and reinstalled the spark plugs. I also removed all the torque off the rocker bolts to make sure the springs wouldn’t remain compressed and the lifters in good shape.
Here is the skinny on the build specs:

I would like to get $SOLD for this engine, and I would entertain the idea of doing an engine swap for an extra $500 (includes fluids), which could be done over a Friday evening and Saturday morning. Shipping charges are not included in the price, but I would be willing to deliver or meet someone within a reasonable distance to save on cost/hassle of shipping.
Please keep in mind that I have over $2k in just the heads on this motor.
Feel free to shoot me a reasonable offer…

LaTechGTO is my handle on another forum, FYI.
Pictures as promised:

Not as easy as I thought it would be posting all of this from my phone
I can take more detailed pictures upon request.

I can take more detailed pictures upon request. Sorry I'm confused, how many miles on this motor since the build?
I am interested....
S
Edit: I think I understand now, about 10k since the build? I'm in Arkansas, would love that motor in my 98 Z.
What are the cam specs?
PM sent.
