So I bought an engine a while back, and I'm now selling it vs. using it myself, no time for new projects right now.
It started as a low mileage (30k) L92 6.2l with VVT and all, stock.
It sat for a little while and I never used it, so I figured I'd sell it, but I didn't know for SURE that everything was still perfect (Nothing good happens to sitting engines) So I had it completely rebuilt and refreshed so that I could sell it with confidence in what I had. Unfortunately for me, it cost a lot more than I expected, so I'm not even going to cut even....but it happens. I have around $2200 in just the recent rebuilt in parts and labor, I changed all the wearable components out for good measure, had it honed, heads cleaned up and gone through, and everything reassembled with gaskets and all.
I had a good bit of parts left over from modding my z06, so I used them on this motor. It has: -Ls7 cam, which with this cars 1.7 rocker ratio will spec out to 211/230 .560/.557 120+4 . -Ls7 timing set -Ls3 front cover to finish to VVT delete. Everything else is stock.
The engine was done in a reputable performance engine shop, by a professional engine builder using professional equipment. It is 100% good to go, everything was redone, it hasn't even been started yet. I will have all of the paperwork on it for the buyer as well.
I will update this post with some pics I took later on, I just wanted to go ahead and get this up here for anyone interested.
The engine can be shipped at buyers expense (I do have a very affordable hook-up though) or picked up at VZ Engines in Gap Mills, WV.
Price drop to $3900 obo
Thanks

What kind of hp/tq numbers do you estimate for this setup? Does it come with ECU and harness? I'm looking at options for my 69 Firebird, which my original intent was an LS3. Any pics and other info you can send to look at? 24 or 58 reluctor?
What all comes with it? Accessories, coils, etc?
thx

The main differences between the l92 and ls3 are
-L92 came with a smaller cam, which was set up with VVT
-L92 heads are the same other than a little heavier valves, which are still good for 7k rpm+
-L92 pistons have slight valve reliefs in them
This engine, though, has an ls7 cam and timing set, so It would have a bigger cam than an ls3 (The ls3 would be 204/211 .551/.525 117LSA vs. the ls7's 211/230 .560/.557 120+4LSA) The ls7 specs are bigger in an ls7 but that number is corrected for the differences in rocker ratio.
I'm not exactly sure on HP numbers. I'd estimate it at whatever an ls3 is pushing plus maybe 30-35 hp. Keep in mind this is with a gm production cam, and the sky is the limit on that number depending on if you wanted to do a different cam setup.
This will have a 58x reluctor, easily changed to a 24x if you wanted or theres a lingerfelter box for ~$100ish that allows a 24x setup to run an engine with a 58x reluctor.
I don't have a harness with it, I only have the longblock to sell, none of the engine accessories. I DO have a low mileage set of coils I'd throw in for free if it sells soon.
I have pics, I'll try to get those uploaded tonight.
Thanks for your interest, let me know if you have any other questions.

Sent you a PM. Would like to see some pics and any documentation you might have from the shop who did the recent work?
What valve springs and retainers were used, the stock ones from the L92 or those that match the LS7 cam?
