Default Drag wheels and tires with ABS

So I put some 28x11.5s on the rear with some 26" tall sportsmans on the front of my 02 Firehawk. The ABS light immediately came on. When hitting the brakes. It pulled to the right HARD. Almost made the car swap ends. Or had a very stiff pedal. Like stepping on a concrete block. Now I know the different size tires would cause the ABS light to come on. But will the ABS light being on cause my brakes to act stupid? Can the ABS be turned off in the computer?

The different size tires are absolutely the reason your abs is tweaking out, abs light and pedal / pulsing.
You can not just turn abs off threw the computer. If you want to run that setup you will have to do a abs delete.

I just unplugged the rear harness that goes to the rear end housing, covered up the lights with electrical tape, and brakes no longer try to kill me when stopping semi hard.

All my brake lines on my car needed to be replaced. All the lines on the car now are non abs lines. Plus the abs block and stuff is gone. Hopefully in your case you can do what the poster above me did instead of doing it this way.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll try just unplugging it. And see what happens.

If your front and rear tire height are more then 1" difference then the ABS freaks out. All you have to do is pull the ABS fuse under the hood...it will set a light on the dash but the breaks will work without the ABS kicking in.

Yeah cause I unplugged the harness on the rear. And it's not as bad. But it's still acting up. I'll try he fuse next. Thanks.

If the ABS INOP light is on, then your ABS is disabled. Your brakes should work like normal, except when you stomp on the pedal they will lock up instead. ABS does not affect normal braking, so something else is wrong.

When I had a mushy pedal I took out the abs fuse and I swear the pedal got firmer. I dont trust that system in my car, always been kinda goofy, having to rebleed brakes etc. I did end up getting rid of it.
