Default Are my cylinder heads hurting my power?

So im running stock 862 heads with BTR springs BTR stage 3 Cam on a Forged LQ4 with BW s475 t6 1.32 80# injectors pump gas with alky. Trans is a 4l80 rear ratio is 3.08. It made 650 on the dyno 16# of boost and has run a best of 10.20@136. My timing is 12* AFRs in low 11s. I have turned the boost up to as high as 20# but it doesn't go any faster. Are the heads holding me back? I was really hopping for a low 9 second truck with what I have into it. I just sent the turbo out to Jose to get the 80mm billet etr wheel in hopes that will get me to my goals. But 10.20s seems slow for what I have. how much power is to be gaining by swapping out the heads for 243 or 317 ect.

What kind of intercooler are you running? I know you have more in the tune, because 12* is nothing timing, and low 11s afr is usually not the way either.

I think you should get the tune squared away with what you have now before you change the heads. The heads are not the problem right now. Personally, I would work with what you have, get the tune spot on, and save for some MMS 223cc Sportsman or TFS220 heads.

What torque converter are you running?? You could be blowing through that. How much does the truck weigh??? What are your 60ft? How much boost are you leaving on?

Thanks for the feedback. I did read the plugs in the dyno and at 16psi the marks on the straps where dead in the middle. We added timing and the power didn't go up much 2hp I think. That was with tr6 plugs. I have since swapped out to 7s. 11:3 to 1 afr on pump and alky. Too rich. How far can I push the air fuel at the boost level.
Im going to have to retune anyway since the forced inductions etr 80 mm is going back in next week.

converter is a billet single disk from circle d. 3600 stall. Leaving in the 2 step 10-12 psi. Weight is 3800. My best 60 is 1.47. 1.55 pretty consistent. Not locking the converter yet. 6600 rpm threw the traps 138 ish.

intercooler is 4" thick 32x14. 3" inlet outlet hadi I made as large as possible to fit infrot of rad. Air intake temps are below 125 without the meth.

At that weight with the 4l80e your gonna need over 800whp to get that thing deep in the 9s. When my camaro weighed 3700lbs I was running around 19psi making 875whp ish and running 9.10s.

My previous set up was a 5.3 with a bw s475 76mm 1.10 ar. On e85 through a powerglide, blowing through the converter, at 15 psi I made 706whp.

I'm surprised nobody picked up on this.
6600 through traps with a 3.08 rear gear and only 138 mph
I have a 3.55 and 6600 through traps would be 155 for me.

For him to have less than 10% slip, he would have to be running a ~23" tire.

OP, what is your tire size? You're blowing through your converter. Even with a 28" tire, you're still well over 20% slip.

x2. There should be a link to Wallace Racing Calculators. They are very helpful for finding problems like this.

OP does the truck have a full cage? That thing is a little chunky. Looks good though!

Mine performs excellent on the street.
It slips ~17% up top though.

Hard to beat a PTC or a Yank if you aren’t locking it up under power. If you are that’s a different story… For reference my PTC slips under 4% thru the traps in the 1/4.
