Default Tried my best fixing the slip-on exhaust header. What are my other options?

I want to stay under $350 when purchasing new headers.

Current set-up are Mac headers + Y-pipe + gutted cat + Magnaflow exhaust.

I like the no drone set-up and would like to keep it but the exhaust leak sucks and I don't want to put any more effort in fixing it. I'd rather get new headers. What do you guys recommend?

I have Hooker LT's where the #1 primary is a slip fit and very loose. Tried sealing it with Ultra Copper and also JB Weld. It would hold for a minute and then blow out. I have a band clamp on it now I put on several years ago. Still leaks. I just deal with it.

Do...do we not weld these, typically? That may be a dumb question but im kinda lost on exhaust in the first place.

I used Walker Exhaust sealant on my slip joints. Worked great and has held up well for quite a few months. Just follow the directions.

Can I apply it with the primary flange still on or will I have to remove the primary and apply the sealant?

This stuff is used on slip joints, not flanges. Basically, you just run a bead on the ID of the larger tube and OD of the smaller tube, slide it together, then clamp it down with a band clamp.

Oops, forgot to update on this:

I did buy the Walker acousti-seal as pictured but I can't find any band clamps of my size and when I ask people locally, they pretend to never heard of such thing. I bought a heavy duty exhaust clamp and it still leaks. Do I need anything else?

1.5 means that it can clamp down piping as small as 1.5. This should work just fine with your 1-5/8 primaries, but I would keep checking for a smooth band if possible.
