Default main shaft races spin in place

Working on rebuilding the LT1 T56. I have it torn all the way down, and I've noticed the races that are in the front adapter plate for the main shaft and counter shaft spin in their bores. I can pull the main shaft race out by hand. Is this normal? Everything I know says, no, the races shouldn't spin. I've never been into a T56 before though.

There looks like some minor scoring in the bore from where the race has spun. Nothing major and the race doesn't wobble around. It just spins and can be removed by hand so long as you pull straight. Thoughts?

Thank you

good.

Set your bearing end play correctly on rebuild to prevent future problems.

They are a close fit, but not an interference fit. Pressure against the flat end face of the race is what prevents spin.
