Default 02 WS6 vs 2017 5.0

My buddies got a 2017 5.0 M6, he has a JLT Cai and bama 93 oct. tune, axle back. I'm in my WS6 M6, headers, exhaust, tune few suspension bolt ons we lined up 3 times from a 50 roll pretty much dead even every pull... is this common? Didn't even go from a dig he on a street tire I'm on a drag radial probably been pretty bad for the 5.0 in that situation. Re cap generous bolt on ls1 vs cai tune axle back 5.0 dead even.

I've seen similar results. I take it you're full weight?

Your buddy doesn't know how to drive but good kill. Also a WS6 with spare and jack gone is not 3600lbs. More like 34xx

No op tbh that's not normal. You have a super fast car or he sucks big time at driving with those mods.

Switch drivers and see if the races stay about the same. I'm guessing they will, because 5.br0s are a good run with equally modded LS1 Fbodys. Ive seen and done it many times. Furd cheerleaders on this site will tell you otherwise, but most of them don't know their *** from their exhaust pipes.

9 times out of 10 a equally modded bro will outrun an equally modded fbody, just facts, even with a few extra pounds 70 or so wheel is hard to make up. BTW wist02ws6 had an 02 WS6 weiged 3520 completely stock with a half tank. A full exhaust car with no spare will be lighter.

So how much does the 5.0 weigh? I'm just wondering, I dyno 351 hp 364 tq with my mods/tune, last time out at royal purple raceway in not cold temps I'm a 12.56 @ 110 mph, seems like the 5.0 traps higher mph.... I dunno I really thought he would beat me I was really hoping to dig race cuz of my tire... but yeah in all honesty multiple 50mph rolls dead even.....

Those are good numbers for your mods. Street races can go either way, that's why the street is so fun. I still think you should switch drivers and see what happens.

New 5.0s should be trapping near 110 stock or more so results make sense. If anything you hung in there very well compared to what I've experienced locally.

Good runs. This outcome is more common than the interwebs care to admit.

Not hard to make those cars close. Free mods on the fcar alone can do it.

Using a hole saw to remove 500lbs of weight doesn't count.
