Yes it lets the computer think the solenoid is still hooked up. The skip shift light will still light but you will not be annoyed by the 1st to 4th shift.

No you don't. Just plug it into the harness and there is also a plug to keep crap out of the solenoid connector. Sorry about no pic I went right to bed when I got home from work. I'm sending one shortly.
