Default slower 60ft w/ ETstreets WTF?

ok i ran a slower 60ft w/ETstreets than before with street tires..

before E/t streets
60ft-1.9
8th-8.6
1/4- 13.30@104.9

w/ ETstreets
60ft-2.0
8th-8.5
1/4-13.16@106

i thought i was gonna dig out of the hole faster, being that i ran on decent street tires before...nonetheless, i ran my best E/T with them...but i didnt think that was going to happen ... has this happen to anyone else before??

What were the conditions/weather like for each pass?

Was anything added/changed between the passes other than tires?

um a cutout .. it was 50 degrees outside ... and the before e/t street pass was around 65

u need a stall to launch hard enough on those ET streets.. ive seen a few people get slower times because of a sticky tire.. and no stall.... or maybe some gears... now ur problem is not traction.. its getting the tire to spin fast enough off the line.. make scence?

Just because you put slicks on the car doesn't mean your gonna hook better if you don't know what your doing. Drop your air psi. down to 13 and do a short spin in the water then pull forward and do a John Force burnout . That will be enough to snap a stock rear if you had enough of a converter and enough gear to get you moving. If you have stock gears and the stock converter put your street tires back on cause your wasting your time and the life of the tire. A better E.T with a worse 60ft. means you had better weather on your side. A better 60ft. always equals a better 1/4 mile. Get some gears and a converter

You really do need a converter minimum to hit the new tires hard enough off the line to make a difference. I'm actually surprised you ran quicker and faster out the end with a slower 60' time as the added rolling resistance of the wrinkle wall tires vs a radial tends to cause a drop in MPH. Every car is different though. Are you matting the gas right off the line with the new tires and were you able to do that before with the regular street tires?

converter built tranny and a new rear than u throw an et on it...... u kinda did it backwards.

i didnt slam the pedal down when i ran the 13.1...when i did i would bog out ..the street tires would spin so i would ease into it.

i always slam the peddle off the line.. dosnt seem like i bog any off the line... but my 60ft does suck...

so are u telling me if i roll on the gas ill get a better time? dam! i need to try that lol!

If your rear end doesn't blow up I'll bet a PT4000 or other like stalled converter will drop over a half second off your time with the new tires. I dropped about that much in the 1/8th when I switched converters. You've got the right tires. Work on the rest of the combo now and you'll be satisfied.

Everyone always puts more tire than they need.
You shouldnt need ET streets until you're running 10s...even then I've seen plenty of drag radials cut some hardcore 60 foots.

You have a nearly stock car...drag radials

if you have the ET street's as in The wrinkle wall slick.. yea way too much tire!! The MT radials would be ok just run them on full psi. if they spin any that soft compound will quickly bite.. but youll need more parts to really pull better 60's, start doing some research on parts. getting all your parts to hit in the same powerband, The right combo is everything!! and plan what your going to buy and setup. dont go buying a 2200 stall then a huge cam that wont pick up till 3500rpm.. All in time, i wouldnt say you made a terrible mistake by any means. tires are a must!! you have them now so start working on more power and your driveline.. goodluck. mid - low 12's is a snap with an automatic

Boggin the motor, that explains the 60'. I agree with the above of too much tire for your set up. DR's would be better but why don't you try and up the psi in the et streets until you don't bog and see what happens.

I agree with the others.. too much tire. You need a little spin to get it out of the hole faster on a stock converter car. What kins of pressure was in the tires when you ran it?

If you put a converter in it the ET streets will work great.

i was running 20psi

well im gettn a set of nitto DR's.. and LT's headers will be my next mod. So i guess ill save the ET streets for gears or a stall in the future...
